W ramach polskiego przewodnictwa w Radzie Unii Europejskiej odbyło się wiele konferencji i spotkań, związanych z priorytetami wyznaczonymi przez polską prezydencję, którymi były: w dziedzinie edukacji – edukacja na rzecz mobilności oraz modernizacja szkolnictwa wyższego, natomiast w dziedzinie młodzieży – młodzież i świat. Zorganizowane przez Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej oraz Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego wydarzenia wniosły istotny wkład do prac nad dokumentami, przyjętymi przez Radę Unii Europejskiej do spraw Edukacji, Młodzieży, Kultury i Sportu. 
- Documents adopted today provide a good basis to continue work on the European forum for education and youth - said the Minister of National Education Krystyna Szumilas during the first day of the EU Council meeting on Education, Youth, Culture and Sport.
